Glossary
The language of AI commerce, in plain terms.
The concepts that decide whether an assistant can read and recommend your store.
GTIN
A Global Trade Item Number — the barcode standard that uniquely identifies a product worldwide.
JSON-LD
A way to embed machine-readable data in a web page — for commerce, a schema.org Product block with offers, price, availability and brand.
Structured data
Product information expressed in a fixed, machine-readable shape rather than free-form text — typically JSON-LD on the page or fields in a feed.
Product feed
A structured file (or API) listing your whole catalog with standardized attributes, submitted to a platform rather than crawled from pages.
Agentic commerce
Commerce where an AI assistant discovers, compares and sometimes purchases products on a shopper's behalf, rather than the shopper browsing a store.
ACP
An emerging protocol for how AI agents and merchants exchange product and order information so an assistant can transact reliably.
UCP
A proposed standard for exchanging catalog and commerce data between merchants and AI systems in a consistent, machine-first format.
GEO vs SEO
SEO optimizes to rank in a list of blue links; GEO optimizes to be the answer an AI assistant gives — read, trusted, and recommended.
llms.txt
A plain-text file at a site's root that summarizes what the site is and points to its key pages — a concise, machine-first map for language models.
